Dan Penwell voted “Editor of the Year” by AWSA (July 12, 2005)
The Advanced Writers and Speakers Association honored the winners of the 2005 Golden Scroll Awards at their July 10 banquet in Denver Colorado. AWSA, a branch of Right to the Heart Ministries consisting of 200-plus women who publish and speak nationally, gave the awards to recognize publishers and editors who demonstrate exceptional ministry partnership with their authors. Actress and author Nancy Stafford was keynote speaker. Best-selling authors Carol Kent and Jennie Dimkoff presented the awards.
Among the recipients was AMG Publishers’ own Dan Penwell, who received the Editor of the Year award. In addition, Dan received the Strength of Choice Award which was sponsored by the God Allows U-Turns project. This award is given to a person in the industry “who displays the courage to boldly share their faith with the world while experiencing formidable life challenges,” said founder Allison Bottke. “We chose Dan Penwell because, despite his battle with cancer, he lives his professional life to minister to authors as well as to readers. His life has made a difference.” Congratulations to Dan Penwell on receiving these awards.
