I Once Was Blind, But Now I Squint fills a niche in Christian Living books that has been overlooked—how perspective affects our behavior. Not all glasses are rose-colored. Using the metaphor of glasses, the author describes how we view situations and people from twelve different perspectives.
Ten spies slipped into the land of Canaan, looked through inferiority glasses and said, "We became like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight" (Numbers 13:33).
Joseph's brothers viewed him through jealousy glasses and plotted his murder (Genesis 37:11).
The vineyard workers looked through envy glasses, compared dollars per hour, and griped about their paychecks (Matthew 20:15).
The Pharisees viewed Jesus through judgmental glasses, trying to find fault with the perfect Son of God (Luke 6:7).
We look through these same glasses today. Our hearts and eyes work together to form our perspectives. Sin in our hearts form the glasses we look through. I Once Was Blind, But Now I Squint explains how to remove these glasses and change the way we view life.
This book is filled with anecdotes and illustrations that clarify some of the basic truths of living as a Christian.
