the need for discipleship
Did you know that Christian fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ is a gift from God? That's why discipleship is so important to Christians as we need to be sharpened like iron, one to another. In Unashamed: Taking a Radical Stand for Christ, pastor and Bible teacher, Robby Gallaty provides a through examination of 2 Timothy along with clear instructions and relevant application. In this book, Pastor Gallaty explains that Christ-like living requires a boldness and sacrifice often opposed to today's norms.
In Robby's words, "the great thing about discipleship is that it's not just about you teaching other's, it's about others teaching you. it's about accountability. It's about encouragement. it's about fellowship with one believer and another."
That must of been adrenalin I felt as I read Robby Gallaty's Unashamed. I sat up straighter in my chair, I was ready to sign up in the quest to make disciples. Unashamed is very important for a couple of reasons, it is passionate in its call to the life of following Christ. It also is built on solid exegesis, truths are most powerful when they flow out of the context of the biblical text. I know this, Robby Gallaty is on the move, he is leading and the question is, "Will you follow?"
Bill Hull, Author: The Disciple Making Pastor, Christlike, and The Disciple Making Church.
