When I reviewed Marilyn Chadwick’s book on prayer, “Sometimes he whispers, sometimes he roars,” http://tinyurl.com/73kewga the author recommended the “Hebrew-Greek, key word study bible,” for in-depth bible study. After I previewed the bible I understand and endorse her enthusiastic recommendation. This amazing Bible, a complete King James English version, is several books in one that enables users to cross-reference the original languages the King James was translated from. Plus the additional bible-study helps that include a “Concordance of Old and New Testaments,” and “Strong’s Hebrew dictionary of the Old and New Testament.
The easy-to-use “Strong’s Dictionary” number system equips readers to identify words in the original languages and learn precise explanations of their meaning and usage. For example, the word repent is used in both Matthew 3:2 and Matthew 27:3. “Strong’s” reference number for Matthew 3:2 is #3340, while the reference number for Matthew 27:3 is #3338. Yet both reference the word repent.
When I flipped to “Strong’s Dictionary” in the back of the bible and read the precise meanings of the word repent I learned the verse in Matthew 3:2 meant a “change of heart.” However, the verse in Matthew 27:3 meant “no change of heart.”
If you’re interested in this bible consider this YouTube video provided by the publishers:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajCZDsDOgycwhere I drew this illustration from.
While my copy is a hardbound, KJV, red letter edition, the bible also comes in New American Standard. Both versions are also available in genuine or bonded leather, in colors of black or burgundy
Beth Moore, Living Proof Ministries, writes, "The Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible is my favorite. I can give it no higher recommendation than to say it is the Bible I have raised my daughters to use."
I agree with her. Use of this bible enhances any bible study and elevates learning to an entirely new level. If you’re looking for a new bible, give this one serious consideration!
