GOD’S MESSENGER

What are you doing for Christ?

WE ARE NOT human beings going through a temporary spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings going through a temporary human experience. Our sojourn on the planet Earth is temporary. Eternity is just that—forever. So, let me ask: What are you doing for Christ during your temporary human experience? Are you reaching out to your co-workers with the love of Christ? Are you acting like Christ? Can those at your workplace tell you are a believer by your words, actions, choices, and attitudes? Are you different, or do you go with the flow? Do you put on Christ at church and then leave him there?

What you do, what you say, and how you react to situations reveals who you are. Can people see you’re a child of God, or do you have to tell them you’re a Christian?

Being different is not a bad thing. Neither is being an alien. God’s Word clearly states that a Christian’s true citizenship is not here on Earth: “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3:20).

I challenge you to mull this question over as you fulfill the duties of your job. Is your experience honoring to the Lord?

“He makes winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants.” (Psalm 104:4)

You are a vital member of God’s ministry team. You have contact with a special and exceptional segment of the world’s population: your co-workers. Only other personnel in your field can truly identify with the unique experiences you encounter. God needs you to be the messenger he directs you to be. And, you need to be that messenger wherever you are, in whatever he inspires you to do.

Are you a servant of the Lord? Do you want to share him with your co-workers? Resolve today to be a better, more active servant of Christ and to continue until he returns. Be like the wind and flames of fire as you share God’s love and as you continue to reflect on this question: What are you doing for Christ?

Prayer:

Lord, you made the winds your messenger and flames of fire your servant. I know you can do no less for me. I am here, Lord. Use me.
