MARRY CHRISTMAS

Keeping CHRIST in CHRISTmas?

THIS IS the month we celebrate the birth of Christ. References to our Savior and Lord as CHRIST appear in the New International Version 531 times. All these direct references are in the New Testament, affectionately known as the Good News. As you celebrate Christ’s birth, it would bless our Lord if you took time to read the story of his birth in the New Testament. But don’t stop there. Turn back to the Old Testament and read on with an open heart about his prophesied coming in Isaiah 9 and 53. Then return to the New Testament and read about his life, ministry, and recorded miracles. As you do, you’ll more clearly understand that Christ is your hope, future, and destiny.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

God said you were made by him for him and that he is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no man can come to God except through Jesus Christ.

Why then is there such a push, such a fervor and immediacy, to take CHRIST out of Christmas? The answer is simple. Our Enemy, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. His plan is to steal, kill, and destroy. He thinks by removing CHRIST from Christmas, having people legally bound to only say, “Happy holidays!”, and a host of other covert plans he has underway, he can stop the work of God on Earth.

I urge you to join me in saying, “It ain’t gonna happen!” Join me in your determination to say “Merry CHRISTmas!” as many times as you can. When someone wishes you a happy holiday, reply by saying, “Merry CHRISTmas.”

We celebrate the birth of Christ because he transformed us from who we were to what we are. It is only by this birth and our belief, faith, and trust in him that we can claim eternity in heaven.

Don’t allow yourself to be deceived by foolishness perpetrated by those who seek to destroy you. Don’t allow the skeptics of unbelief to intimidate you into saying anything but “Merry CHRISTmas!” Remember, Jesus is the Reason for the season.

Through Christ we have hope, happiness, and joy. Through him and him alone, you can go to bed and wake up each day with hope. His birth was foretold years before he came and he is everlasting.

Prayer:

Happy birthday, Jesus! You are the Reason for the season. With each gift, activity, and get-together, I ask you to be present. May others see you in me.
